Kool-Aid Slushies are easy four-ingredient homemade slushies that you can make in a variety of flavors. They are the perfect cool down drink on a hot summer day.
Kool-Aid Slushies
I remember going to the gas station to get ice slushies in the summer, then immediately getting a brain freeze because I drank it too fast! I loved the sweetness and especially the bright colors. Now, you can make these at home with just a few ingredients.
It’s a copycat Sonic Slushies for a fraction of the cost.
Pick your favorite flavors and make multiple versions. Have multiple flavors on hand because the kids will want to try all the different flavors. The Kool-aid drink mix is inexpensive so this fun summer treat doesn’t break the bank!

Ingredients
- 2 cups cold water
- ½ cup sugar
- 4 cups ice cubes
- 1 Kool-Aid packet – for the Kool-Aid mix – find the small packets in the drink aisle of the grocery store.
Instructions
- Pour the water, ice, sugar, and Kool-Aid into a blender.
- Blend until just smooth and the ice reaches a slushie consistency.
- Serve in individual glasses and serve.
Special Tools
You’ll want a high speed blender. A good blender makes this recipe easier as it will really crush the ice to the slushie consistency. We use a Blentec blender for all of our blending. Others have had success with a Ninja blender.
Alternatives
- Club soda – add some club soda to make it fizzy
- Flavors – we used blue raspberry lemonade, cherry, and orange flavors, but the sky is the limit.
Fun summertime treats are always a great way to end a day at the pool, or when kids are running through the sprinkler outside and this Kool-Aid Slushie recipe will be the hit of the day.
This slushy recipe is an easy special treat for a sunny day! It’s the perfect way to spend summer, sipping on fun drinks.
