This is a very versatile sweet salad recipe that you can change up so many wonder ways. Here are some of our favorites you can try next time:
Peach blueberry fluff salad: Instead of the pineapple, add in a well-drained can of peach slices, or you can even use fresh peaches.
Cherry fruit salad or pink fluff: Just substitute the blueberry pie filling with cherry pie filling or a really tasty and fun variation
Two-berry fluff salad recipe: Mix in some fresh strawberries, raspberries or blackberries. Not only does it taste amazing, but fresh fruit also gives this salad even more amazing color.
Cranberry fluff: You can make use a can of cranberry sauce instead of the pie filling. It makes the perfect side for your Christmas dinner.
Blueberry banana salad: Use 2 to 3 sliced ripe bananas instead of the pineapple chunks.
Blueberry marshmallow fluff: Replace the mini marshmallows and sweetened condensed milk with a jar of marshmallow fluff. Mix it in with the pie filling before folding in the whipped topping.
Blueberry lemon fluff: Add about 1/2 cup lemon curd instead of the pineapple. Garnish with slices of real lemons and some fresh blueberries
Add-ins: Make your own version of this dessert by adding in other ingredients like cottage cheese, coconut flakes, and fresh diced fruit.
Other Substitutions:

- Change up the nutty flavor with pecans or walnuts instead of the almonds. Or if you aren’t a fan of nuts, you can omit them all together.
- Use a stabilized homemade whipped topping with heavy whipping cream in place of the Cool Whip.
- You can use light sour cream instead of full-fat sour cream. You can also swap out the cool whip with a container of light cool whip. You can also use unflavored Greek yogurt in place the of the sour cream.
How to Store Blueberry Fluff
Cover any leftover salad with plastic wrap, or store in an airtight container and place in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Can you Freeze Fruit Fluff Salad?
While you can freeze this fluff, the texture does have a tendency to change when it’s thawed. The whipped topping can begin to separate, and it won’t be quite as appealing as when it is served fresh.
Can I Make this Fluff Salad in Advance?
Yes, you can make this dessert salad in advance up to a day before you want to serve it. Store it in the fridge until ready to serve.
