You are not clear on instructions to heat treat cake mix. You say to put in bowl (in this case a two cup bowl) and heat for 30 seconds until 165F. I would assume you heat in a microwave vs. conventional oven. but please clarify. Thanks! Haven’t made yet but sounds like it would be yummy.

Sorry for the confusion. Just heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. If you want to be sure it’s safe, you can use a thermometer to check that the temperature is 165 degrees.

Which cookies would you suggest besides those you list? I think vanilla wafers would work great as well? I am going to get nilla wafers already. Would chocolate chips be good? Making it for my sisters Halloween party Saturday. It is mostly adults & my older nieces & nephews. A two teenage girls. My nephew is the only little one left 6 yrs old.

Recommend doubling the cool whip, and don’t put sprinkles in until just before serving because the colors will bleed in the dip. Pretzel was the clear dipping winner with this one so you get a salty sweet bite.
