Santa Nutter Butter Cookies

Peanut butter filled Nutter Butter cookies are great on their own, but sprucing them up for Christmas with white chocolate and sprinkles makes them so festive!

Just like our popular Ghost Nutter Butter cookies, these are simple to create with just a few ingredients.

Ingredients

ingredients on white counter: white candy melts, mini chocolate chips, red hot candies, red sanding sugar, Nutter Butter cookies
  • 12 oz. white candy melts
  • (1-lb.) pkg. peanut butter-filled sandwich cookies (Nutter Butter cookies)
  • 64 mini chocolate chips
  • 32 miniature white chocolate chips
  • 32 Red Hot candies
  • Red sanding sugar

Instructions

four photos: melted white chocolate, hand dipping half of Nutter Butter in chocolate; dipping other half of Nutter Butter in chocolate; dipping top of Nutter Butter into red sanding sugar

There are multiple ways to do this, but we worked from Santa’s beard to his hat so the red sanding sugar doesn’t get stuck in his beard.

  • Melt chocolate according to package instructions (use microwave)
  • Line baking sheet with wax paper.
  • Holding bottom of the cookie dip it into the melted chocolate, tapping to let excess chocolate drip off.
  • Lay flat on waxed paper-lined cookie sheets. Immediately place 1 red hot for the nose.
  • Let stand about 10 minutes until set.
  • Holding the top of the cookie dip it into the melted chocolate, tapping to let excess chocolate drip off then dip into the red sanding sugar. Lay flat on waxed paper-lined cookie sheets. Immediately place 1 white chocolate chip for Santa’s pompom on  his hat. You may need to pipe a drop of chocolate on top of the sanding sugar for the pompom.
  • Add two drops of chocolate for the eyes and place two mini chocolate chips for the eyes.

Alternatives

Get creative and decorate these any way you want.

You can easily swap our mini red M&Ms for the red hot candies if you don’t think the kids will want a cinnamon kick to their cookie.
