Suggestions and Alternatives

  • Stir until dissolved – Make sure to stir until the Jello is completely dissolved so you don’t have any grainy bits of Jello mix in your cups.
  • Use red cups – If you prefer to make Jello in different colors and flavors, but still want the red holiday look, you can use mini red plastic cups instead of the clear ones.
  • Refrigerate – To help your Jello to set more quickly, refrigerate it uncovered.

Variations

  • Substitute cherry, raspberry, or any other flavor of red Jello for the strawberry.
  • You can omit the sprinkles, or replace them with red and green sanding sugar or maraschino cherries.
  • Make some green Jello cups and serve the green version alongside the red as Elf Jello cups

How Do I Store Santa Jello Cups?

Store any leftover cups in an airtight container or cover them with plastic wrap or lids. They should keep in the fridge for about a week. You’ll want to store the Jello without the whipped cream, so it’s a good idea to wait to add the whipped cream to your cups until just before serving.

Can I Freeze Santa Jello Cups?

Jello does not freeze well, so you should only make as many Jello cups as you plan to serve within a week or so.
