Melted Snowman Bark

Melted snowman chocolate bark is a great, fun treat that kids and adults love. Because there’s no real baking involved the skill level is low so this is a great activity for kids of all ages – they can decorate their own snowman.

You just need a few ingredients and a small amount of time to make this fun treat and it will be sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit .

Ingredients

ingredients on white counter: orange tic tacs, candy eyes in a jar; pretzel sticks, Reese's peanut butter cup minis; mini M&Ms; white chocolate chips
  • 2 cups White Chocolate Chips, melted
  • 6 small Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
  • 12 straight pretzel sticks
  • 24 small Candy Eyes
  • 12 orange tic-tacs (or sprinkles)
  • 36 mini M&M’s

Instructions

melted white chocolate in bowl next to sheet pan with two melted chocolate blobs on it
  • Line 2 baking sheets with wax paper or a silpat liner and set aside.
  • Unwrap the peanut butter cups and cut them in half.
  • Break pretzel sticks in half. You’ll need two per snowman so depending on the size of your pretzels, break them in half.
  • In microwave-safe bowl melt 1 cup of white chocolate in 30 second intervals, stirring in between each interval until chocolate is melted.

  • Pour a tablespoon or two of the melted chocolate onto the wax paper forming a “snowman” blob. Use the back of a spoon to spread it out to the desired thickness and shape of your individual snowman.
  • Place a Reese’s peanut butter cup at the top for the snowman’s hat, then arrange 2 candy eyes, an orange sprinkle for his nose, and three matching-colored M&Ms (M’s face down) in a row forming buttons.
  • Repeat until all the melted chocolate is used.
  • Start again with the second cup of chocolate chips and candy accessories.

By using large baking sheets, you can contain the “mess” if you’re having young kids help.

How Do You Store Snowman Bark?

Since the chocolate has hardened, you can simply store the pieces in an air tight container. There’s no need to keep it refrigerated.

Can I Use Candy Melts?

You can easily swap out white candy melts for the white chocolate chips in this recipe. Melt them according to the package instructions. We actually love using candy melts because they melt so smoothly.

Alternatives and Suggestions

  • carrot noses – you can buy these fun carrot sprinkles (you’ll have to pick the carrots out) and make carrot noses
  • mini chocolate chips – you can substitute the candy eyes with mini chocolate chips like we did in our Nutter Butter Ghosts
  • candy cane sprinkles – you can get candy cane sprinkles on Amazon add a candy cane to the snowman
  • random order – put all the “toppings” on the melted chocolate in random order. We did a more formal snowman, but you can simply sprinkle the pretzels, hat, eyes, and candy pieces in any order

This is such a fun recipe to make during the Christmas season. Put the finished choclate bark in little gift bags and hand out at school or to neighbors or friends.
