- Add to soups – This seasoning adds great flavor to soup recipe. Add a couple tablespoons, along with taco seasoning to taco soup, taco meat or other favorite dishes to give them a tangy twist.

Tips for Making & Using Homemade Dry Ranch Seasoning Mix
- Give it a shake – As it sits in the spice cabinet, some of the ingredients may settle to the bottom. Give the jar or container a good shake to redistribute the herbs and spices.
- Ratio to use – It is recommended that you use the same amount of homemade seasoning as you do Hidden Valley Ranch packets.
- Store it properly – Keep your dry spices in a dark place, away from direct sunlight, like on a spice rack in your pantry. Exposure to air will cause your herbs to become stale.
- Label the jar – Store your homemade spice blend in a glass spice jar other air-tight container that you’re able to label with the name of the spice and the date you make it.
- Keep it fresh – The best way to ensure you have optimal freshness, homemade seasoning mixes should be used within 9 months to a year.
Can I Use Fresh Herbs for This Recipe?
When it comes to making homemade seasoning blends, moisture is not your friend. If you’re making a batch to use for later, you’ll always want to use dried spices and herbs.
If making it to use immediately, you can use fresh herbs, but you will probably need to adjust the amounts because dried herbs have a stronger flavor.
