If you’re a huge chocolate fan, then you’re absolutely going to love this rich, creamy, and oh-so-chocolatey dessert. It has all the same flavors as your favorite cup of hot cocoa, only it’s a lasagna-style layered dessert that starts with a homemade Oreo crust.

Chocolate Lush Dessert Variations and Add-ins

  • Cookie crust – You can replace the regular Oreos with Mint Oreos, Golden Oreos, chocolate graham crackers, or crushed teddy grahams.
  • Reduced sugar – If you want to cut back a little on the sugar, you can use sugar-free instant pudding and whipped topping.
  • Whipped topping – We made it easy with Cool Whip, but you can make your homemade whipped cream. Beat heavy cream with a little powdered sugar until you have spreadable, stiff peaks.
  • Toppings – Have fun and add even more toppings. Festive sprinkles, chopped nuts, white, semi-sweet, or dark chocolate chips, crushed Oreos, chocolate shavings, or a dusting of cocoa powder are great ideas.
  • Chocolate pudding – You can swap out regular chocolate pudding with white chocolate pudding.
  • Presentation – This recipe is best made in a glass dish so you can see the layers. But you can change it up and make them in individual parfait glasses or with extra layers in a trifle dish.
