Can I Make Christmas Tea in Advance?
You sure can! Make a batch up and allow it to cool. Once cool, transfer it to the fridge in an airtight container or jar for up to several days. When you’re ready to reheat it, make sure to give it a good stir to redistribute all the spices.
What Can I Serve with Warm Spiced Tea?
This is one of the best Christmas teas because it can be served anytime of the day.

It’s excellent for an afternoon Christmas tea party served with little tea sandwiches made with this Best Pimento Cheese or with some of your favorite homemade sweet treats like these Gumdrop Cookies, Christmas Bundt Cake, Snow Ball Cookies or these tasty Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookies.

Is Spiced Tea Good for You?
Spiced tea has some really great health benefits. Certain types of teas, especially green tea and black tea, have antioxidant compounds associated with several health benefits.
This Christmas tea calls for pineapple, lemon and orange juice which are all a great source of vitamin C. Plus, cinnamon and cloves are both also linked to numerous health benefits.
Which Type of Tea is Best for Spiced Tea?
One of the things that makes this recipe so great is you can use just about any type of tea you prefer. Naturally you’ll want to use one that is non-flavored or one that’s not a really strong tea so it won’t compete with the spices in this recipe.
Some of the most popular types of tea bags used in the recipe are black tea, green tea and white tea. You can also use your favorite loose tea with a brew basket if you prefer.
Variations of Christmas Time Tea:
You can customize the flavors of this tea with your own perfect blend of flavors. Here are some popular variations you may want to try next time:
- Oranges: Swap out orange juice for freshly squeezed blood orange juice. Blood oranges are less tangy than standard oranges and have more of a floral or tart flavor
- Sweetener: Though this recipe calls for sugar, you can certainly use a sugar free substitute instead. You can also use honey instead of the sugar.
- Garnish: Once the tea is heated and ready to serve, garnish each mug with cinnamon sticks and a slice of orange peel for an extra added touch.
- Mint: Give this tea a different spin by adding fresh mint. Fresh mint leaves give tea a delightful flavor, but mint can be overpowering. After the tea is heated, pour a cup and wave mint leaf though the hot tea a few times. That’s all it takes to give the tea a mint essence.
Can I Make Christmas Tea in the Crockpot?
Yes, just pour all of the ingredients in and set the slow cooker to low. Let steep for 2-4hours. This is a great way to serve hot tea so that it retains the heat.
