- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided
- 1 cup pizza sauce (or marinara)
- 1 oz. pepperoni slices
- Bread for dipping
How To Make Pizza Dip
- Preheat oven to 350 F. (If using a pie pan or baking dish, spray with cooking spray.) We recommend a 9-in pie pan, but you can make any size pan work – just adjust the temperature.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl combine cream cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, and 1/4 cup parmesan until combined.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture on the bottom of the skillet. (You may need to press it down with your hands or use a spatula. Just do your best to get it smooth on the bottom layer.)
- Pour pizza sauce on top of cream cheese layer and spread to cover.
- Top with remaining cheese.
- Sprinkle 1/4 cup parmesan on top of the mozzarella.
- Then add the remaining 1/4 cup of parmesan.
- Top with whole pepperoni slices.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese has melted and is just slightly golden brown.
What do you use to dip into this easy pizza dip?
The easiest item to dip in this dip is bread. It’s so, so good. But you can also dip crackers, chips, or even just a spoon.
- baguette slices
- crackers
- pita chips
- bagel chips
- tortilla chips
- bread sticks
- celery
- carrots
Can you use other pizza toppings?
Absolutely. Why not have fun with this recipe? Even though I made ours a pepperoni pizza dip you can easily use other types of meats or even veggies. Make is just how you would order your favorite pizza and use any of your favorite pizza toppings.
Some of our favorite toppings are:
- green pepper
- diced onion
- sausage crumbles
- sliced mushrooms
- black olives
- fresh garlic
You can even make it easily taste different every time that you make it. This is just another one of the perks!
Does this dip really taste like pizza?
Yes, it does. Think of it as a low carb pizza that you can enjoy. You can even skip the bread and crackers for dipping and opt for some celery instead. Certain to taste great and have some extra health benefits, too.
Tips
While this easy pizza dip recipe is super simple, there are a few things to keep in mind.
- Make certain to let the cheese melt – This is important and is what takes the longest amount of time. Be patient though because that first dip of gooey cheese is totally worth it.
- Homemade marinara tastes the best – If you have a favorite homemade marinara, this is the perfect recipe to pair it with.
Suggestions and Alternatives
As I stated earlier, you can change up and add in other ingredients.
The main thing to remember is that you need to add ingredients that are already cooked. (This pertains more to the meat than anything.)
Try different kinds of cheeses as well to get a whole new taste. I love to add mozzarella, but also add in other types of cheeses, too.
And adding jalapenos or onions on top are a fun idea as well.
Fun Ways to Serve this Pizza Dip
While I could totally eat this as a meal in itself, you can easily serve it up as a fun appetizer as well. However you want to serve it and whoever you want to share it with is totally up to you.
This easy appetizer is popular for Super Bowl, game day, movie night, or any time of the year. It’s always a big hit.
