When I was younger, WAY before kids, Cinco de Mayo was an excuse to go out for drinks with friends from work. There was always a restaurant or bar having Cinco de Mayo drinks specials for the evening and it was a great excuse to go out after a long day in the office. Fast forward, and I’d rather stay home than go out. These Cinco de Mayo drinks are perfect for a night in.
In America, Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for the fifth of May) has taken on new meaning from the original Mexican celebration for the victory in the Battle of Puebla. In the USA we celebrate the Mexican-American culture in general and many people love to have Mexican fare and drinks.
