Easy Fruit Dip Recipe

I’ve been making this Easy Fruit Dip Recipe since before I had kids, and it’s still the one people ask me for at every party. It comes together in five minutes with no mixer, no cook time, and no complicated steps. Just mix, chill, and pull out the fruit and graham crackers when everyone’s ready to snack.

Marshmallow Fluff Fruit Dip
I always have a variety of fresh fruit in my kitchen, but this light and fluffy fruit dip is what turns a simple fruit platter into the perfect sweet treat. My version only takes three ingredients and five minutes, and it makes a delicious make ahead dessert for everything from showers and brunches to afternoon snacking.
The key to my easy fruit dip recipe is getting the sweetness just right. Where some recipes add confectioners’ sugar, I skip it. The cream cheese gives it tangy richness, the marshmallow creme adds sweetness, and the vanilla adds just enough warmth to tie it all together. That’s truly all you need for a light, creamy dip to serve with graham crackers, berries, apple slices or whatever fresh fruit you have on hand.
For a fun party spread with other sweet dips, try it alongside my Cake Batter Dip or Peanut Butter Cup S’mores Dip.
Why My Recipe is the Best
- Three ingredients, nothing extra – A lot of fruit dip recipes add confectioners’ sugar, sour cream, or other extras to make the flavor work. Mine keeps it simple with cream cheese, marshmallow creme, and vanilla.
- No mixer needed – As long as the cream cheese is properly softened, this dip comes together easily by hand in one bowl. No stand mixer, no hand mixer, and no extra cleanup.
- Perfect consistency – It stays perfectly creamy and scoopable, so it clings to strawberries, apple slices, and graham crackers instead of sliding off.
What’s Needed for the Best Fruit Dip Recipe

Below is a list of the ingredients you’ll need to make this recipe. Scroll down to the full recipe card for the specific amounts.
- Cream cheese, softened – Creates a rich and creamy texture.
- Marshmallow creme – This adds sweetness and that light, fluffy texture that makes this marshmallow fluff fruit dip so good with fresh fruit.
- Vanilla extract – Vanilla rounds out the flavor.
- Fresh fruit for serving – Strawberries, apple slices, grapes, pineapple, blueberries, kiwi, melon, and orange slices are all great with this cream cheese fruit dip.
Substitutions or Variations
- Out of vanilla? You can use almond extract instead.
- Want a citrus version? Add 1 tablespoon of orange juice or a little fresh orange zest.
- Prefer a strawberry fruit dip? Use strawberry cream cheese in place of plain cream cheese.
- Want it a little sweeter? Beat in 1 tablespoon of powdered sugar.
- Serving it for fall? Add a sprinkle of cinnamon and brown sugar on top before serving.
How to Make Cream Cheese Fruit Dip
Here are my step-by-step instructions so you can make this recipe with ease. For the full, printable recipe with amounts and temperatures, scroll down to the recipe card below.

- Add the softened cream cheese to a medium mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
- Add the marshmallow creme, vanilla extract, and orange juice if using.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate for about 30 minutes before serving for a thicker texture.

- Soften cream cheese – Set your cream cheese out about 30 minutes before mixing. Cold cream cheese leaves lumps that no amount of stirring will fix.
- Mix carefully – Use a rubber spatula instead of a whisk. It folds the marshmallow creme in more evenly without deflating it.
- Prepare fruit last – Slice fruit right before serving so it doesn’t brown or release extra water into the dip.
- Dry the fruit – Pat wetter fruits like strawberries and pineapple dry with a paper towel first, so the dip sticks to the fruit better.

Fruit Dip FAQs
Can I Make This Fruit Dip Ahead of Time?
You can make it up to two days in advance and store it covered in the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve.
Can I Use Cool Whip Instead of Marshmallow Creme?
You can, but the dip will be lighter and less sweet. I prefer marshmallow creme for the richer, more substantial texture.
Is This Dip Gluten-free?
Yes, all three ingredients are naturally gluten-free, though it’s always smart to check your specific brands.
Storage Instructions
- Refrigerate -Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
- Freeze – I don’t recommend freezing this dip. The texture turns grainy once thawed, and it won’t return to its original consistency.
