But this recipe comes with a warning! You’ll want to make a big batch because it won’t last long!
Crock Pot Christmas Crack
This Crockpot Christmas candy recipe is my favorite set-it and forget-it candy recipe and it only takes 5-ingredients! If you’re looking for a simple recipe for homemade candy, this is one of the easiest recipes you’ll find. It’s the ideal sweet and salty candy to take to holiday parties, family get-togethers, bake sales, or just to have on hand when that sweet tooth hits.
When Christmas time rolls around, things seem to get super busy. All the hustle and bustle this time of year leaves little time for holiday baking. That means recipes that take less time are essential and appreciated. That’s where this recipe shines! It truly is one of the most popular, but easiest Christmas candy recipes you’ll ever make.

- 12 oz. chocolate bark
- 5 cups salted dry roasted peanuts

Where Can I Find Packages of White Almond Bark?
Almond bark is going to be on the baking aisle of your grocery store close to the chocolate chips and other baking items.
Is White Almond Bark and Vanilla Candy Coating the Same?
Yes, it’s basically the same thing. Depending on the brand your store carries, it will sometimes be called almond bark, or vanilla candy coating.
Instructions for Crock-pot Christmas Crack

- Place almond bark pieces on bottom of the crockpot.
- Add peanuts, white and chocolate barks and chocolate chips.

- Using a cookie scoop or two tablespoons, spoon mixture onto the lined baking sheets into individual size portions.
- Immediately add holiday sprinkles and let set out until completely cooled and chocolate is set.
- Store in airtight container.
How Long Will Crockpot Chocolate Candy Stay Fresh?
To keep your candy the freshest, place it in a cool place in an airtight container with parchment paper, between each layer of clusters, for up to 2-3 weeks. The clusters will stay fresh up to a month if stored in the refrigerator.
Variations of Slow Cooker Chocolate Candy
This is such a good recipe to change up and try different flavors. Try some of these variations next time you make it:
- Butterscotch chocolate chips with white chocolate chips added with almond bark is a delicious combination.
- Though the traditional nuts used in crock pot candy are peanuts, you can use pecans, walnuts or a combination of all your favorites.
- Add dark chocolate chips in with the almond bark for a more intense chocolatey flavor.
- You can add 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter for an extra decadent treat. If you want even MORE peanut flavor, substitute the chocolate chips with bags of peanut butter chips.
- If you prefer, you can swap out the semi-sweet chips with a bag of milk chocolate chips.
- Make the clusters extra festive with different colored sprinkles. White sprinkles look so pretty on dark or milk chocolate. Christmas colored sprinkles are especially pretty on white candy clusters.
- Make them into turtles. After the first hour is up, just throw in handful of caramel candies and fold them in gently.
- Peppermint always goes with chocolate. Add some crushed peppermint candies for an extra festive spin.
Gift Ideas for Crockpot Candy
This is such an easy dessert and gift idea, it will sure become your favorite recipe to share with family and friends. If you’re in the candy making mood, make up a huge batch and give as teacher’s gifts, neighbors or that special someone that’s impossible to buy for. After all, everyone loves homemade treats!
Putting them in decorative cookie tins, or placing the clusters in little Christmas-colored mini cupcake liners add such a special touch.
Tips for Making this Crockpot Candy Crack Recipe:
- Don’t stir your ingredients before the first hour. You want the heat to soften all of the chocolate chips and taking the lid off too soon causes too much heat to escape. .
- If the peanut clusters are still a little soft to the touch at room temperature, take the cookie sheet and place them in the fridge for about half an hour to help them set up.
- If you’re watching your sodium and need a less salty treat, you can use a jar of unsalted peanuts.
- If your crockpot seems to cook hotter than most, you may want to start with layering the peanuts on the bottom first to prevent the candy from burning. Never try to rush this crockpot Christmas crack recipe by cooking on high; the chocolate needs to melt low and slow.

How do I print the recipe for Crockpot Christmas Crack?
June says
We have made these with the same ingredients for over 25 years and melt everything on the stove top and they are called Peanut Clusters and take maybe 20 minutes from start to finish. Why is this called crack? There is no toffees involved so no crack. Did the name of clusters and crack get put in wrong. This is confusing.
June says
This is Peanut Clusters not Crack. Crack is a different recipe like a toffee recipe that gets hard and does crack. This only takes about 20 minutes cooking on the stove top kit an hour in the crockpot. I think your recipes got mixed up. We have made these clusters for over30 years and the ingredients are exactly the same but clusters not crack.

thanks for the clarification. We called it crack because it’s so addictive. We also have a regular saltine Christmas crack that you actually crack once the toffee and chocolate harden.

Great gifting candy! Perfect for chocolate and peanut lovers. It’s very rich and one batch makes quite a bit! Easy to make and great if you don’t have a lot of time!
