Essential oils for anxiety exist! There are a lot of ways to ease anxiety, stress, and depression using essential oils. And essential oil roller balls are a great way to bring your essential oils with you.

The benefit of using an essential oil roller ball is that the oils are already premixed, they’re portable, and you can use without having to wait – just roll it on. We’ve come up with an essential oil roller for anxiety and depression because, well, it’s needed.

Essential Oils for Anxiety

Let’s start off by saying that this is not a cure for depression or anxiety. Nor are we doctors or therapists. If you have depression, anxiety, or other diagnoses please be in the care of a doctor who can help you. There is no shame in therapy and doctors can help you.

That said, many people use essential oils for anxiety and stress. I first got an essential oil diffuser as a Christmas present because I thought it would be nice to have calming scents wafting through the house.

We’ve graduated to two diffusers in my house (we like this one) and use it nightly to help our kids with stress and anxiety. I diffuse lavender (our favorite), peppermint, and orange to give the room a calming effect.

Essential oils have been around for centuries and are extracted from flowers, roots, and plants. While it’s best to use natural essential oils, the essential oils market isn’t regulated (much like the word “natural” isn’t regulated.) Do your research to determine which brand of oils is best for you.

Using an Essential Oil Roller

Then, I was talking to a friend about the stress one of my children was having, she reached into her purse and handed me her lavender essential oil roller. I’d never seen one before and immediately fell in love with it.

She said to put it under your chin, or if you’re using on a child and they won’t let you use it on their throat, then roll some on their feet.

I keep it in my purse and pull it out when I’m stressed or when I think one of my kids is starting to have anxiety about something — homework, feeling left out, bedtime. I’ve been known to roll it on every member of my family during tense situations or just to calm everyone before bed.

We also use it right before bed — it has a very calming scent and helps remind us that it’s time to go to sleep!
