Preheat oven to 350.
Grease 2 standard donut pans, and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients. Set aside.
2 cups all-purpose flour, 1 1/4 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
In a medium sized mixing bowl, combine all of the wet ingredients.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
1 cup apple sauce, 1/3 cup melted butter, 3 eggs, 4 tablespoons boiled cider, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
Using a spoon, distribute the batter between the greased donut pans.
Bake 25 minutes.
After about a minute, carefully loosen the donuts from the pan and move to a cooling rack.
Mix together the sugar and cinnamon for the coating in a large sealable bag.
1/2 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon
One at a time gently, shake and roll around each donut (while still warm but no longer fragile).
