Santa Hat Jello Shots

These Santa Hat Jello Shots are a festive holiday treat, everyone loves. Red and white jello come together in a little cups with a buttercream and strawberry Santa hat! You can make these alcoholic for adults or leave out the alcohol for a kid friendly treat.

Equipment

  • 15 2 ounce plastic shot cups

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces strawberry flavored gelatin mix
  • 2 ¼ ounces unflavored gelatin
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 ½ cups water divided
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 1 cup vodka divided
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 15 strawberries
  • Christmas sprinkles optional

Instructions

  • On a tray set out your cups, set aside for later. Make room in your refrigerator for the baking tray.
  • In a large mixing bowl add 1 cup of boiling water and your strawberry jello.
    3 ounces strawberry flavored gelatin mix
  • Whisk until the jello is dissolved.
  • Add ½ cup of cold water and ½ cup of vodka and whisk to combine.
    ½ cup cold water, 1 cup vodka
  • Carefully pour the mixture into the cups about a half of the way up. (Pour mixture into a mixing cup that has a spout.)
  • Carefully place the tray in your refrigerator for 30 minutes or until the layer is set.

Make White Jello Layer

  • In a small saucepan add unflavored gelatin and one cup of water and heat on medium.
    2 ¼ ounces unflavored gelatin, 2 ½ cups water
  • Stir until the gelatin is dissolved.
  • Remove from the heat and add in the sweetened condensed milk and ½ cup vodka.

  • Set aside to cool.
  • Carefully spoon the white mixture into each shot cup on top of the strawberry layer filling the cups almost to the top.
  • Place back in the refrigerator for 30 minutes until set.

Make the Buttercream

  • Place a strawberry on top of each jello shot.
    15 strawberries
  • Using an electric mixer, whip the butter until light and fluffy.
    1/2 cup butter
  • Add in the confectioners sugar and mix again until light and fluffy.
    2 cups confectioners sugar
  • Place the buttercream into a zip top bag with the tip cut off.
  • Pipe the buttercream around the edges of the strawberry with a dollop on top.
    Christmas sprinkles
