Nutter Butter Acorns

Ingredients

  • 10 Nutter Butter cookies cut in half through the short side with a sharp knife
  • ½ cup chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vegetable shortening
  • 10 pretzel sticks broken in half
  • brown, orange, and yellow jimmies

Instructions

  • Prepare a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Add chocolate melting wafers to a small microwave safe bowl. Heat inside the microwave for 1 minute on 50% power. When done, stir and add crisco. Return to the microwave and heat in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until silky smooth.
  • Dip Nutter Butter cookies (straight edge side down) into the melted chocolate. Dip about ½ in deep. Be sure to allow excess chocolate to drip off.
  • Place pretzel into the Nutter Butter (broken half connected to the chocolate dip attempting to sandwich it in the middle and connect it to the rest of the melted chocolate.
  • Lay Nutter Butters in the bed of sprinkles. You can mix sprinkle colors together if desired.
  • Lay acorns on parchment paper and repeat for each one. Place inside the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes before serving.
