Instructions
Peel and core apples and cut into bite-size pieces.

Place apples in the bottom of the slow cooker and add sugar, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and vanilla. Stir the apples to cover with the seasonings.
1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/3 cup white sugar, 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/3 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1/3 teaspoon salt, 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
Cook on high for 7 hours. Stir the apples a few times through the duration of cooking.
After 7 hours, please the apple mixture in a blender and puree until smooth.
Return the apple butter to the slow cooker and cook on high for one more hour. After this, you can eat the apple butter or put it in sterile jars for further storage.
Notes
Yields 3-4 cups of apple butter depending on how the apples break down while cooking.
