Air Fryer Pork Chops (Perfect Every Time)

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces pork chops 1 to 2 inches thick
  • 1 Tablespoon avocado oil can substitute vegetable oil or another high heat oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon teaspoon coarse kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme optional

Instructions

  • Set the air fryer to 375°F and let it preheat for 4 minutes.
  • Trim any excess fat from the pork chops and pat dry with paper towels.

  • Place the pork chops in the air fryer basket and drizzle with avocado oil and rub to coat evenly.

  • Sprinkle both sides with paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Rub the seasonings into the meat to ensure even coating and cook for 4 minutes.

  • Flip the pork chops and continue cooking for 3-5 more minutes, depending on thickness. Check for an internal temperature of 145°F using a meat thermometer.
  • Remove from the air fryer and let rest for a couple of minutes.
  • Top with fresh thyme before serving (optional).

Notes

Note about Oil:
Avocado oil is the best type of oil for air frying. If you’re going to be doing a lot of air frying, I’d keep avocado oil in my pantry. It handles high temperatures well, delivers consistent results and has a neutral flavor that pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes.
