Slow Cooker Beef and Broccoli

Our Slow Cooker Beef and Broccoli recipe is filled with juicy and delicious beef and tender broccoli florets simmered low and slow in a sweet and savory garlicky sauce. This is one of my family's go-to busy weeknight recipes that everyone loves.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds sirloin steak cut into thin 4-inch long strips
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup oyster sauce
  • cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic minced
  • 1 head of broccoli cut into florets
  • 3 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  • Add steak to the bottom of a 7-quart slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, beef broth, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and garlic. Mix well.

  • Add in cornstarch and mix until it’s fully dissolved and there are no lumps.

  • Pour mixture over steak. Cook on low heat for 5-6 hours or on high heat for 3.5-5 hours. Stir periodically.
  • 30 minutes from the end of the cook time, add the broccoli to the slow cooker. Stir periodically and allow the broccoli to steam until tender.

  • When done, remove beef and broccoli from the slow cooker using tongs and serve with white rice. Top with sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Place the leftover beef and broccoli in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Freezer storage: Transfer leftovers to a freezer-safe container. Label the container with the date. Beef and Broccoli can be frozen for up to 2 to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.
