Instructions
Preheat the oven to 325. Line an 8x8 or 9x9 inch pan with parchment paper and butter the parchment, set aside.
In a medium size pan over low heat melt butter and chocolate chips stirring frequently until completely melted and smooth.
Remove from heat.
Whisk in sugar until well mixed.
Add eggs one at a time mixing thoroughly between each addition.
Stir in vanilla, salt, and vinegar.
In a separate bowl whisk together flour, baking powder and salt until well mixed.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the chocolate mixture mixing well between each addition.
Add in 1 tsp red food coloring. Mix well, if a deeper color is desired add more food coloring and continue mixing until evenly mixed.
Pour the batter into your prepared pan, and smooth evenly.
Place in oven and bake for about 45-55 minutes – Cooking time will vary depending on if you’re using a metal or glass pan. Set a timer for 30 minutes and check for doneness by inserting a toothpick about 3 inches in from the edge of the pan to see if it comes out clean. If not continue to bake and check every 5-10 minutes.
Once baked remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool completely.
Once the brownies have cooled it is time to make the frosting.
Place cream cheese and butter in a medium size bowl and cream together with an electric mixer.
Add in vanilla.
Add in powdered sugar a little at a time stirring between each addition until all of the powdered sugar is incorporated.
Spread the frosting evenly across the top of the brownies. Sprinkle with sprinkles if desired.
Remove from the pan and cut into 9 squares.
Store in an airtight container.
