Valentine's Cake Pops

Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Calories: 1327kcal

Equipment

  • cookie sticks

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cake such as a box cake, cooked
  • 2 TBSP cream cheese frosting soft
  • 12 oz candy melts red
  • 20 count 6 – inch cookie sticks
  • sprinkles

Instructions

  • Bake your cake mix according to the package instructions. Upon cooling, cut the cake in half and reserve the other half for dessert later on.
  • In a large bowl, crumble half of the cake.
  • Add in 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese frosting and mix together.
  • Next, divide the cake mixture into 20 portions. With the palm of your hand, round out each portion into a ball shape.
  • Place your cake pops on a sheet pan or plate, and place in the freezer for about 15 minutes.
  • While the cake pops are in chilling, place the candy melts in a medium sized bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals until completely melted. Stir after each interval. The candy melts won't look melted until you stir them.
  • Remove the cake pops from the freezer.
  • Place your cookie stick in the candy melt, then into the cake pop. Then add your cake pop to the candy melts. Coat the pop completely with the melted chocolate. Gently tap the cake pop on the side of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate and create a smooth finish.
  • Place the cake pop on the parchment paper. Immediately add your sprinkles before the chocolate dries.
  • Repeat until all the cake pops are coated in chocolate.
