Nutella Puff Pastry Braid

- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 2 ounces cream cheese softened
- 2/3 cup Nutella
- 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1 egg beaten
- confectioner's sugar optional
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Unroll the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and roll out until flat and even. Place on the lined baking sheet.
In a small mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese and Nutella until smooth.
Spread the mixture along the center of the pastry sheet.
Top with mini chocolate chips.
Use a sharp knife to cut slits along both sides of the filling.
Braid the side strips over the top of the filling.
Brush with beaten egg.
Bake 18 to 20 minutes, until golden brown.
Allow to cool and top with powdered sugar before serving.
