Nutella Puff Pastry Braid

This Nutella puffed pastry braid is as pretty as it is delicious. Buttery and flaky pastry dough is braided around a rich and creamy Nutella filling for a beautiful sweet treat that’s a surprisingly easy dessert to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 2 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 2/3 cup Nutella
  • 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 1 egg beaten
  • confectioner's sugar optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unroll the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and roll out until flat and even. Place on the lined baking sheet.
  • In a small mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese and Nutella until smooth.
  • Spread the mixture along the center of the pastry sheet.
  • Top with mini chocolate chips.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut slits along both sides of the filling.
  • Braid the side strips over the top of the filling.
  • Brush with beaten egg.
  • Bake 18 to 20 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Allow to cool and top with powdered sugar before serving.
