Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 cup canola oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup chocolate sauce

Vanilla Frosting

  • 1 cup butter unsalted, softened
  • 2 cups confectioner's sugar
  • 4 Tbsp heavy whipping cream
  • gel food coloring black
  • 2 disposable piping bags

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a 8in round cast iron with pam baking spray
  • Using a standing mixer, beat the oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, salt, canola oil, eggs and vanilla and beat until combined
  • Fold in the chocolate chips
  • Fold in the chocolate chips
  • Bake in the oven for about 20-30 minutes or until a light golden brown Allow to cool completely on the counter
  • Drizzle the caramel and chocolate sauce on top

Making the frosting

  • Using a standing mixer, beat the butter, powdered sugar, heavy whipping cream and vanilla until combined and stiff peaks. About 5 minutes mixing
  • Divide the frosting into two bowls
  • Mix a few drops of the black food coloring into one bowl and mix until combined
  • Scoop into the piping bag and scoop the white frosting into the second piping bag. Cut the tips off
  • Using the black frosting, pipe out the detail of a spider web by creating a X Pipe a --- through the middle of the X to create a star
  • Pipe half circles in between each line to create the web
  • Using the white frosting, outline the web to create a 3D effect
  • Using the black frosting, pipe out some spiders to go on the web.
