Yes, I think it should work in the oven, although I haven't tested it that way myself. If you want to try it, I would brown the patties on the stovetop first, then place them in a baking dish, pour the gravy over the top, cover with foil, and bake at 375°F for about 20–25 minutes, or until the patties reach 160°F internally. Since I haven't made it this way, I can't guarantee the results, but that's the method I would use. If you give it a try, I'd love to hear how it turns out! 😊

Doubled the recipe. It turned out excellent. I did modify it only a little. I added some salt to it, extra garlic and onion powder, and for the gravy I added a packet of onion soup mix with a half cup of water. Simmered it until the onions were soft. My 3 year old granddaughter loves it and asked for more. Thank you for this recipe. Can't wait to try your other recipes.

The patties should hold together without adding an egg, but if the mixture is very warm or the ingredients aren't measured exactly, they can sometimes be softer than expected. Chilling the patties before cooking helps them firm up, though results can vary depending on factors like the fat content of the beef used.

An egg can certainly be added if you prefer a firmer texture.

You can certainly try it, but you will definitely get a thinner consistency. The au jus won't be as thick as the gravy.
