It’s that time of year where we are reminded to give thanks. Is this something we really need to be reminded once a year? Shouldn’t it really be something that we just do as a habit — because it’s a part of us. Because we care.
Each year there are new things to be thankful for, of course. Everyone has a different list. We need to remind ourselves to be thankful every day.
While I’m on the subject of saying thanks, I want to thank all of you for reading this blog. You return here for whatever reason you do and I’m grateful. I have several topics in store that I want to blog about and hope to be able to get back at posting more regularly. After Thanksgiving, I’ll be launching Balancing Motherhood’s first ever Christmas gift guide. I have several things that I’ve been wanting to talk about when I realized they would all make wonderful gifts. In the meantime, here are some Thanksgiving related links that you might like.
- Read my post from last year about the Thanksgiving Day book. A great story for kids.
- Learn about the first Thanksgiving from National Geographic Kids.
- Watch this ABC News package about the Thanksgiving Turkey Shortage, then help a family have a Thanksgiving meal this year. Find a local food bank to make a donation.
- Keep the kids entertained at the Thanksgiving table this year by printing out a Thanksgiving activity placemat like you get at many restaurants. Print the full color PDF from Disney Family Fun.
