Oprah Winfrey admits to having a breakdown last year as she was doing too much — acting in a movie, restructuring her OWN network, and flying to various locations to interview famous subjects for her show. Sounds pretty stressful. Even Oprah has these moments. We, as busy moms, have them too. Let’s let Oprah’s lesson to us be to make sure to slow down at times. To listen to our bodies and minds when they give us a sign that we’re trying too hard, doing too much.
Take a day, or just a moment to breathe and relax. Read that book that is laying on your nightstand. Call a friend you haven’t heard from in awhile. If you are at work, make a cup of tea instead of your regular coffee and sit outside for 10 minutes to breathe the fresh fall air and have the tea fill your insides with warmth.
Or just even the simple task of a long bath tonight after a long Monday. Be sure to listen to your body and put it first every now and then.
