Cool stuff here. Our lovable, red, furry friend Elmo is getting in on financial planning for kids. I wish I could say “bandwagon” here, but I don’t feel like this is a topic that we spend enough time teaching our kids. We focus on so many great things in life, but finances aren’t always on the list. Especially, when so many parents struggle with finances or were never taught how to save money themselves.
Enter the puppet.
“Sesame Street” and PNC Grow Up Great are parterneing to give away, that means for free, 1 million (that’s 1,000,000!) financial kits to help teach kids about money. Pretty cool.
The free bilingual, multimedia kit includes a Parent and Caregiver Guide, a Children’s Activity Book, 3 Jar Labels, and an original Sesame Street DVD that features Elmo, Cookie Monster, and their Sesame Street friends as Elmo learns the basics of spending, saving, and sharing.”
Get info on how to order the kit on PNCGrowUpGreat.com. There’s also a link to download some of the materials for free.
