I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what we are meant to do in life. What is our purpose? Are we fulfilling our dreams.
As we age, is it harder to fulfill our own dreams? Do we let them fall to the side so that we can be good providers for our families? Do we think we’re just too old and that dreams are for the young. We ask our children, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” but no one asks an adult, “are you living the life you dreamed?”
When do we get to get back to living our lives as if there is no tomorrow?
Part of not fulfilling our own dreams is in part because we let life take over. We let the fear of not being able to pay our mortgage, or the desire for that really big house, the nice car, clothes that are in style, and all of those inner urgings. Who is telling us we need all this stuff?
In trying to have it all, sometimes, I think, we loose sight of what we really want.
I know this post is really a list of questions and random thoughts, but I wanted to put something out there to get us thinking about what is important.
