Two days until Christmas. I just finished updating our TO DO list on the whiteboard that is in our kitchen. It includes a cooking countdown for tomorrow’s dinner. It requires one more trip to the grocery store. When I told my husband to get brussel sprouts yesterday, he got about 5. This is to feed 9 adults. So, we go back to the store today. I am attempting to not have to go back out for anything after today.
Nothing.
Not one thing.
Do you hear me, grocery store? Don’t make me come back again.
Here are a few links that might help you during the last minute frenzy that today brings:
- Did you forget your gift tags? Don’t run out to the store, print some free Christmas tags here.
- Have a hankering for a Christmas cookie, but don’t have the energy to make one. Try this super simple peanut butter/peanut butter cup cookie. It uses store bought ingredients and can be ready to eat in about 15 minutes flat! It does, however, probably require a trip to the grocery store.
- Need a last-minute gift idea that doesn’t require you to leave your house, and will “ship” by Christmas? How about a magazine subscription? I got this link to Barnes & Noble on Facebook today with many popular titles, all with significant savings. I think I’m getting myself one! Another great idea is a subscription to a service like Netflix.
I hope your to do list is getting crossed off today so that you can relax and enjoy the holidays. As parents, this time of year gets hard … there is so much to do. All the wrapping, baking, teacher gifts, child care juggling during the break, entertaining the kids and trying to keep it all in check. Let’s be mindful to try to slow down and just do what we can.
I hope you enjoy the next few days!
