Yes, I think it should work in the oven, although I haven't tested it that way myself. If you want to try it, I would brown the patties on the stovetop first, then place them in a baking dish, pour the gravy over the top, cover with foil, and bake at 375°F for about 20–25 minutes, or until the patties reach 160°F internally. Since I haven't made it this way, I can't guarantee the results, but that's the method I would use. If you give it a try, I'd love to hear how it turns out! 😊

You can freeze it, although admittedly I never have. Let the cake cool completely, then wrap it in plastic wrap and freeze. It will last 2-3 months in the freezer.

Texas Sheet Cake is definitely a very sweet, classic Southern dessert, so it may not be the right fit for everyone. Many readers love it just as written, but taste preferences can vary.

Doubled the recipe. It turned out excellent. I did modify it only a little. I added some salt to it, extra garlic and onion powder, and for the gravy I added a packet of onion soup mix with a half cup of water. Simmered it until the onions were soft. My 3 year old granddaughter loves it and asked for more. Thank you for this recipe. Can't wait to try your other recipes.

While that seems doable, it also sounds like a big change and I can't guarantee it would keep it's "fluff."
