What if you woke up this morning only with what you had been thankful for yesterday? What would your life look like today? Would you have a house? A job? Where would your family be? Would you have any clothes to wear? Would you have food to eat? This question was posed to the staff and students at my children’s school during an all-school assembly this month. What a great message for all of us.
It’s made me thankful for little things. Not only do I want to wake up in a house, but I’m thankful for running water, for toilets!, for heat and a/c. I’m thankful for the food that feeds my family, I thankful for pets that are soft and cuddly, for cars that work, for computers and the internet so I can live a flexible lifestyle, the list goes on. This simple question, “what are you thankful for today?” can be a guiding principle in our lives — leading a life of gratitude.
Today I am grateful for all of you, wonderful readers of Balancing Motherhood. I am working to bring it to the next level and to offer more, and consistent, content. I’m already grateful for the new readers that I’m going to gain too! Thank you!
I hope you each have a great Thanksgiving day.
