This is it! We made it. One last day until Christmas. Today also happens to be my husband’s birthday so I’m trying to make it special.
For the finality of our advent calendar this week we are going to concentrate on taking a moment to be with our children. It’s time to read a holiday book with your children tonight. It’s the culmination of a long month of mothers doing so many things. By reading a book with your children it will not only add that final calm, but will be a cherished time with you and your kids.
We read “The Night Before Christmas,” each year. Actually, we let the grandparents read it if we are with them. It’s become a wonderful tradition that our entire family enjoys. Reading the story of Christmas from the Bible is also another tradition that is great to start as a family.
Reading with your kids is a wonderful experience any time of year, but it can help settle the kids tonight and put your mind at ease that tomorrow is going to be a great day — no matter how much of your list you got done! Enjoy the night.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
